Hey there! I'm Steven Poitras, a technology industry veteran with a track record of joining early-stage companies and helping them scale to massive success.

In October 2026 I rejoined Nutanix, where I'm focused on the problem that kept coming up while I built agentic AI: how context is stored, how it is coordinated, and how agents coordinate around it. Why I went back.

The first time, I spent nearly a decade at Nutanix (2011–2020) and was part of the journey from scrappy startup to multi-billion-dollar public company. While there, I created the Nutanix Bible, the technical reference that became the go-to guide for hyperconverged infrastructure. In 2020 I followed Dheeraj Pandey to DevRev at its earliest stage, to go deep on engineering with AI and build a company from the beginning, working on developer and customer relationship tools. In 2025 I joined Ema to double down on AI that owns outcomes: agentic AI employees.
